What does it mean to ME to be Vegan
Let’s start with the vegan basic food guidelines.
The key to a nutritionally sound vegan diet is a variety of healthy whole foods. A healthy and varied vegan diet includes fruits, vegetables, plenty of leafy greens, whole grain products, nuts, seeds, and legumes. I know this may not sound like a lot but trust me there are some pretty delicious foods out there that don’t consist of animal products.

So you understand the difference between being Vegan and Vegetarian, Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, or poultry.
Vegans, in addition to being vegetarian, do not eat other animal products and by-products such as eggs, dairy products or even honey.
Many people are concerned with a Vegan diet based on the protein myth. It is very easy for a vegan diet to meet the required recommendations for protein as well as calorie intake. The key is to eat a diet will with all different types of whole foods. Almost all foods except for alcohol, sugar, and fats provide some form of protein. Here are some examples lentils, chickpeas, tofu, peas, peanut butter, soy milk, almonds, spinach, rice, whole wheat bread, potatoes, broccoli, kale…ect. the list goes on and on.
