Aspartame Text Book Definition

Aspartame is the methyl ester of the dipeptide of the natural amino acids L-aspartic acid and L-phenylalanine. Under strongly acidic or alkaline conditions, aspartame may generate methanol by hydrolysis. Under more severe conditions, the peptide bonds are also hydrolyzed, resulting in the free amino acids. In some markets aspartame is manufactured using a genetically modified variation of E. coli.

Methanol Side Effects

Two isolated amino acids in aspartame are fused together by its third component, deadly methanol. In this structure, methanol bonds the two amino acids together, but when released at a mere 86 degrees Fahrenheit, the methanol becomes a poisonous free radical. Methanol breaks down into formic acid and formaldehyde, embalming fluid. Methanol is a dangerous neurotoxin, a known carcinogen, causes retinal damage in the eye, interferes with DNA replication, and causes birth defects.

Aspartic Acid Side Effects

Aspartic acid makes up forty percent of the structure of aspartame. Under excess conditions, the structure of aspartic acid can cause endocrine (hormone) disorders and vision problems. Aspartic acid is a neuroexicter, which means its structure affects the central nervous system.

Hyperactivity is stimulated by aspartic acid, so this structure is not good for ADD/ADHD conditions and should be avoided during pregnancy.

Adverse reactions to aspartic acid are: headaches/migraines, nausea, abdominal pain, fatigue, sleep disorders, vision problems, anxiety attacks, depression, and asthma/chest tightness.

Phenylalanine Side Effects

Aspartame contains 50% phenylalanine.
Phenylalanine is one of the essential amino acids found in proteins, such as eggs, milk, bananas, and meat. I am one of the believers that amino acids should be eaten in combination, not in isolated form. Nature provides amino acids in combination; only man isolates them for processing purposes.

Phenylalanine is a hidden danger to anyone consuming aspartame. Phenylalanine is a neurotoxin and excites the neurons in the brain to the point of cellular death. Too much phenylalanine causes seizures, elevated blood plasma, is dangerous for pregnancy causing retardation, PMS caused by phenylalanine’s blockage of serotonin, insomnia, and severe mood swings.

The 1976 Groliers encyclopedia states cancer cannot live without phenylalanine.

PKU – Phenylketonuric

If you are PKU or sensitive to phenylalanine, you will react to the phenylalanine in aspartame. You can get a blood test to check for this condition. Over the past 20 years, humans have become more aware of PKU reactions because of the use of isolated phenylalanine and many reported aspartame side effects made to the FDA.

ADD/ADHD, emotional and behavioral disorders can all be triggered by too much Phenylalanine in the daily diet. If you are one in ten thousand people who are PKU or carry the PKU gene, Phenylalanine can cause irreversible brain damage and death, especially when used in high quantities or during pregnancy.

Read the Ingredients

It is important to learn about the ingredients within your foods, especially isolated amino acids like Phenylalanine. Read all food labels and avoid anything with isolated amino acids. You want to buy products with at least eight amino acids in combination. They are in combination within nature for a reason – they don’t belong in isolated form for the healthy human diet.

Hello my name is Maria also known as the healthy bitch. I started my healthy weight loss journey on 9/4/09 weighing 235lbs and today on 10/26/09 I weigh 218lbs. Today is day 4 of what I intended to be a 3 day juice fast. I started this journey because I wanted to improve my health as well as my family and loved ones health.

My entire life I have been overweight and uneducated about the true nutrition of food. My weight has been a constant battle for me. I would go on the latest fad diet and lose anywhere from ten to twenty pounds and always gain the weight back in half the time it took to loose it. Someone very close to me even once told me that history always repeats itself and that I am expected to fail. So in an effort to break the cruel pattern of history, I am making a conscious decision about the foods I eat.

Now I am living a new healthy lifestyle on a vegan diet filled with fresh fruit and vegetable juices. I am documenting this journey to share with all of you, in hopes that I will be able to hold myself accountable for my actions and continue to change not only my life but inspire others to learn about food and its nutritional value and this is why I created the healthy bitch .com so that I can track my weight loss progress and share what I learned with you.

Make sure all your fruits and vegetables are organic.   • two organic sweet potatoes
  • two organic red potatoes
  • half of an oragnic sweet onion
  • one box of organic seven whole grain rice

Organic Cooking Directions

preheat oven 400 degrees
cut tops out from peppers and clean seeds out from the peppers, when peppers are clean place in pot of boiling water this will help soften and shorten cooking time, let sit in water for about fifteen minutes while preparing stuffing then place in glass pan sitting upright till stuffing ready

You can boil or steam potatoes then mash potatoes in bowl, chop onion and add to rice while cooking, cook rice as specified on box, when rice is finished cooking add rice to mashed potatoes and mix with spoon

Once stuffing is complete them you can take stuff peppers with mix, don’t be afraid to stuff peppers to the top. You can place pepper tops back on top to keep stuffing in tack. Pour two cups of water in glass pan to prevent burning. Place in oven and cook for about fifteen minutes remove tops of peppers and broil so tops are is crispy for about five minutes.

I had a wonderful vegan meal with my entire family this evening. That’s thirteen hungry italians. Everyone loved the food and enjoyed the delicious baked vegan goodies. It was a success and hopefully they all learned a few good healthy tips on cooking without meat and the benefits of eating healthy.

Eat Healthy and Move Your Body

I have learned the hard way that by just eating healthy you will not lose weight. If you want to lose weight you have to exercise, and I don’t mean once or twice a week. I know everyone hates the term exercise but don’t think of it as a chore or something you have to fit in.

You eat everyday don’t you? You shower and brush your teeth everyday? Well you need to move your body as well, everyday! Yes, I know we all work and some of us even have kids, but thats no excuse not to get your butt moving. I sit down all day at a computer and I am guilty for always complaining that I have no time to exercise. Well don’t think of it as exercise, just find time in your day to move your body.

Here are some examples of how you can MOVE YOUR BODY and not worry about fitting in an exercise routine.

Move During The Work Day

  • Actually take your lunch at work and walk around outside.
  • Get up and fax the papers yourself instead of having someone else do it for you.
  • Park your car within a good walking distance to your place of work.

Move When You Get Home From Work

  • Download your favorite music and jam out, dance, or just have fun by yourself after dinner for half hour. You will find this to be a great stress release.
  • Find one of the thousands of old workout tapes you ordered in the past and never used and just have fun with it, don’t worry about making sure you follow it perfectly, just move your body. I love working out to Richard Simmons, Sweatin to the Oldies, you know you have it, use it and have fun with it.

Find Time To Walk

Walking is my best source of tension release. Wether you like to walk in the morning or evening, just find a way to fit it in. Trust me when you start walking wether its outside or on a treadmill you will want to walk more and eventually you may even find yourself wanting to run or jog a little. Walking releases so many great endorphins. I love to walk outside with my dogs and breath in the fresh air.
