Hello my name is Maria also known as the healthy bitch. I started my healthy weight loss journey on 9/4/09 weighing 235lbs and today on 10/26/09 I weigh 218lbs. Today is day 4 of what I intended to be a 3 day juice fast. I started this journey because I wanted to improve my health as well as my family and loved ones health.

My entire life I have been overweight and uneducated about the true nutrition of food. My weight has been a constant battle for me. I would go on the latest fad diet and lose anywhere from ten to twenty pounds and always gain the weight back in half the time it took to loose it. Someone very close to me even once told me that history always repeats itself and that I am expected to fail. So in an effort to break the cruel pattern of history, I am making a conscious decision about the foods I eat.

Now I am living a new healthy lifestyle on a vegan diet filled with fresh fruit and vegetable juices. I am documenting this journey to share with all of you, in hopes that I will be able to hold myself accountable for my actions and continue to change not only my life but inspire others to learn about food and its nutritional value and this is why I created the healthy bitch .com so that I can track my weight loss progress and share what I learned with you.

Juice Fast Day One


Three Day Juice Fast

Juicing fasting consists of juicing fresh organic raw fruits and vegetables. Juice fasting can be a great way for your body to rid unwanted toxins. Make sure all your fruits and vegetables are organic. If you cannot find organic produce that you want to juice I wouldn’t suggest juicing it because of all the harmful pesticides and chemicals that can be found on produce that is not certified organic.

Healthy Bitch Juice Fast Breakfast

16 ounces of Fresh Squeezed Pomegranate Juice
1 Pomegranate, 1/2 Beet, 4 Golden Delicious Apples
(this will make enough for 32 ounces)

Healthy Bitch Juice Fast Lunch

16 ounces of Fresh Squeezed Pomegranate Juice
(the left over juice from this morning)

Healthy Bitch Juice Fast Dinner

16 ounces of Fresh Squeezed Cantaloupe Juice
1/2 Cantaloupe, 2 Oranges (peeled), 2 Carrots

6 ounces of Fresh Squeezed Green Juice
1 Rainbow Chard, 4 Dandelion Roots, mix with 3 ounces of Cantaloupe Juice

Carrot Juice


Raw Juicing Ingredients

4 Raw Carrots
3 Raw Apples
1 Raw Lemon

Squeeze lemon into juice after carrots and apples have been juiced with juicer. This is a great staple juice. It is a good juice for first time juicers. Enjoy because I know I will.

Pepper Juice

The Healthy Bitch Raw Ingredients for Red Pepper Juice

2 Large Red Peppers
3 Carrots
3 Apples
1 Cucumber
Combine all ingredients in food processor prior to juicing.
makes 24 oz
